Hi, I’m David. I’m a musician and music teacher with experience teaching different instruments, musical styles, ages and levels. I work with guitar, bass, ukulele, double bass, musicianship, body percussion and musical initiation.
My teaching combines practical music-making with ongoing study of music pedagogy, practice, memory and skill learning. I don’t use one fixed method for everyone: we work from your goals, the music you want to play and the problems you actually need to solve.
We work on what to play, but also on how to practise, notice problems, use feedback and become more independent as a musician.
Identify what actually needs work.
Use useful strategies instead of simply repeating.
Learn to notice what is changing while you play.
Build tools to solve more musical problems yourself.

My teaching combines years of experience as a musician and teacher with an ongoing interest in how people learn, practise and develop skills. The aim is simple: understand what you are doing, practise with purpose, and become increasingly independent.

A few practical answers about lessons and workshops.
No. Lessons can start from the beginning or from the level you already have. The starting point is adapted to your experience and goals.
30 minutes works well for a focused goal or shorter sessions; 45 minutes is the regular balanced format; 60 minutes gives more space for repertoire, technique and musicianship. If you are unsure, tell me and we can decide together.
Yes. Adult beginners and returning musicians are welcome. Lessons are built around realistic goals, the music you want to play and a practice process you can actually use between lessons.
That is a useful starting point. We can identify what is limiting progress — technique, rhythm, reading, practice habits, theory or another area — and build the lessons around it.
There is no public calendar at the moment. Send your usual days, times and timezone, and I’ll reply so we can find a suitable time personally.
